I use email and if multiple submission are made to the same Jotform, it ends up in the same thread. This may be a Gmail thing as we use Google Workspace for our business communication. Is there any way to ensure that each submission is treated as a separate email, and so it doesn;t end up in the same thread?

Hi George,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. It appears that Gmail's Group conversation is enabled in your Google settings. You can disable the Conversation view in your Google settings to separate the notification emails from your inbox. Let me show you how:
- In your Gmail inbox, click the Gear icon on the top-right side of the page.
- Scroll down and uncheck the Conversation View.
Let us know if there's anything else we can help you with.

would mean that conversations would be separated. From a
business perspective, threading is very useful and efficient. From the
standpost of a jotform thread...is there a way to make the email
notification unique swo that it does not create a thread of unrelated
submissions?

Since I do not want to globally disable threading in Gmail (it's useful from a business perspective) the I added a field to the subject line to distinguish it, or make it unique. I tested it and it worked fine, assuming the elements of the subject line create a unique subject line in Gmail.

I added the following fields to the Subject Line and resolved the issue:
Form Name
Your Name
Submission ID
Leaving Gmail threading on and it work brilliantly!

Hi George,
That is also an option if you don't want to disable the conversation view in Gmail. Because Gmail will always put together all the emails with the same Subject. So, to avoid submissions from being grouped to a single thread, you must set a unique subject line with your form.
Reach out again if you need any other help.

Hi George,
You can use the Unique ID widget to email subject on Email Notification. Check out the screencast below:
As you can see, by using a Unique ID, you can differentiate the email notification received. Let me show you how to do it:
1. In Form Builder, click on Add Form Element on the upper left part of the screen.
2. Click on the Widgets tab.
3. Drag and drop the Unique ID to your form.
4. Change the Unique ID label to "Unique ID".
5. Click on the Gear icon of the Unique ID.6. Scroll down, and change the Number of Digits value to "1".
7. Click on Settings on the orange navigation bar.
8. Click on Emails on the left part of the screen.
9. Click on the Pencil icon of the first Email Notification.
10. Click on Downward Arrow icon below the Advanced tab.
11. Click on Unique ID Form Field.12. Click on Save.
That's it. Let us know if you have any other questions.
