Hi Jotform - right now we are on a paid subscription. What would happen to our past submission data, especially the file uploads and signatures, if we downgraded to a free plan?

Can we still access the files and signatures?

    Hi ElderHelpofSanDiego,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. If you want to downgrade your account to the Starter Plan, your forms will not be deleted. However, the limits on your account will adjust according to your Jotform subscription. With the Starter plan, you can only have five active forms. If you have more than five forms, the additional forms will be disabled. If you cancel your subscription, I suggest downloading your submissions first to avoid losing data. We also have a guide about Understanding Your Account Usage and Limits, How to Download Form Submissions as Excel, CSV, or PDF, and How to Cancel Your Subscription that you can check out.

Reach out again if there’s anything else we can do for you.

Thanks. We aren't planning or hoping to downgrade. I just want to find out this question --

What happens to Signature and File Upload links if we downgrade to a Free subscription?

Do we still have access to those files?

    Hi ElderHelpofSanDiego,

Thanks for getting back to us. If you downgrade from a paid subscription to the Free plan on JotForm, here's what typically happens to Signature and File Upload links:

Signatures captured using JotForm's e-signature feature are stored on JotForm's servers. If you downgrade to the Free plan, you may lose access to these signature files if they exceed the storage limits of the Free plan. JotForm typically restricts the amount of file storage available on free plans, so older files may be deleted or inaccessible unless you upgrade again or manage your storage usage carefully.

Files uploaded by users through your forms are also stored on JotForm's servers. Downgrading to the Free plan may affect access to these files depending on their total size and the Free plan's storage limits. Exceeding the storage limits on the Free plan could lead to older files being deleted or inaccessible.

That's it. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks. This is helpful. I'm just researching this so we have a clear picture of future possibilities.
