Hi,
Im wondering if you provide a form that potential clients/customers can enter their Social Security Number with the proper government compliance and security for collecting this kind of information. I work for a lender for medical equipment and such this is needed to approve potential clients.
Thanks!

Hi Jess,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. The collection of Social Security Numbers is allowed in Jotform, but you should apply the best security measures to your form:
- Add the Terms & Conditions widget to your form. Your users will read the terms and conditions and accept them.
- Add an E-Signature element to your form.
- You can also enable Form Encryption in your form which would encrypt the data.
Let us add a Terms & Conditions widget to the form.
- In Form Builder, click on the Add Form Element menu on the left side of the page.
- Click on the Widgets tab.
- Search for the Terms & Conditions widget, and click on it to add.
- Click on the Wand icon.
- In the General tab, add the link to your terms and conditions page in Terms Link.
- Finally, click on the Update Widget button.
Now, let us add a Signature element to the form.
- In Form Builder, click on the Add Form Element menu on the left side of the page.
- Click on the Signature element and drag it to add to the form.
Now, let us see how to enable form encryption.
- In Form Builder, click on the Settings tab from the orange navigation bar.
- Click the Form Settings on the left menu, and toggle the Encrypt Form Data button to the On position.
- Verify your account by entering your Jotform account password.
- Enter an Access code that will be used to decrypt the form data when viewing submissions.
- Finally, click on the Enable Encryption button.
