Product List: Add Zero to the Quantity Dropdown Option

The purchase order widget previously allowed zero quantities on selected items. A change was made to the behavior of the widget to limit the allowable inputs on checked items to positive integer values. We are using this widget as an inventory taking tool for a very large organization and affirmative zero quantities are necessary for accurate record keeping. There is already a manual control on the quantity field to set the allowable range of inputs. There are legitimate uses for order forms to allow zero and even negative and decimal quantities on submissions. For use cases where values less than 1 are unwanted the range control setting already exists with adjustable minimum and maximum values.

We strongly request the dev team to remove the hard restriction on allowable input range. The default minimum on new forms can be left at 1 but allow the form designer to manually choose to allow zero or even negative inputs. This is very important and does not negatively affect forms already designed around positive only values.

    Hi ekyser,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, our Purchase Order widget doesn't allow zero quantities on selected items. This change was made to prevent misunderstandings about orders like preventing form submissions without required payments. If a product is not selected, it is already counted as zero and won’t be shown on the order.

Let us know if there’s anything else we can do for you.

That part is understood. I am requesting the question be elevated to the devs to consider allowing the default setting to be modified by the form authors when they want to allow affirmative zeros and negative quantities on an elective basis.

The reason we are using the Purchase Order widget in this way is that it is the only list object that supports quantity inputs by item and keyword filtering on very large lists over 1000 items. These are crucial and not available in any other widget.

    Hi ekyser,

While the feature you’re looking for isn’t currently available, rest assured we’re always working to add new services and features to Jotform. I've gone ahead and escalated your request to our Developers. When or if it's implemented depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

Reach out to us if you need any more help.

I just purchased a silver membership of Jotform, then proceeded to develop the "perfect" form. Unfortunately, I ran into this same issue. Customers WILL have an issue with quantity already selected at 1. Very non-intuitive.

The Jotform Devs REALLY need to take a hard look at how many people have escalated this issue. A quick google search shows just how many people dislike this change. Please don't tie our hands on the product quantity issue. At least allow us to toggle the feature or provide a warning. We know what is best for our customers.

I've checked out the screenshot you shared, and I'll also forward it to our developer team. I've updated that notes as well for them to check. Our team will circle back once there is an update on this feature.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.
