QR Code Reader: Only working in the Jotform mobile app

    MY QR CODE SCANNER DOES NOT WORK WHEN I USE THE WEB LINK FOR MY FORM. BUT IF I USE THE APP VERSION OR THE KIOSK VERSION IT WORKS PERFECTLY ?

    JUST USING A NORMAL STATIC QR CODE FROM QRCODE GENERATOR. THE QR CODE SHOULD JUST HAVE ONE WORD IN IT.

    Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I tested the form through a clone and the QR scanner worked as expected.

    Can I ask for a screenshot of the QR code you tried to use so I can test it on our end. I also recommend using the QR code widget. Let me show you how:

    • In Form Builder, click on the Add Form Element menu on the left side of the page.
    • Under the Widgets tab, add the QR code widget into your form.

    Give it a try and let us know how it goes

    I SENT THE LINK TO MY PHONE AND OPENED IT WITH CHROME AND THE QR SCANNER IS NOT WORKING. IT WORKS WITH THE JOTFORMS APP

    Hi Kyle,

    Is the form being filled out using a mobile browser? Can you please confirm the device used for testing? Have you tried other mobile browser aside from Chrome? Also, can you confirm if you're using the QR Code Read widget using Jotform Mobile App or just the mobile browser?

    I have the qr widget on my form. I used my Zfold 5 to open the form on the jotforms mobile app platform and it worked perfect. But if I share the link and open it with a web browser the scanner doesn't seem to work. I also used edge no luck

    Also let us know what's the version of the browser you're using, as well as the OS version you're running on the device that has an issue.

    I'M USING THE NEWEST EVERYTHING. BUT YOU CAN SEE THE DEFFERENCE IN THE PICTURES I TOOK. THE FIRST PIC NEVER SHOWS THE OUTLINE OF THE QR CODE SCANNER LIKE IN THE SECOND PIC. THE FIRST PIC IS FROM THE WEB BROWSER WHERE I COPIED THE LINK. THE SECOND PIC IS THE PICTURE FROM THE JOTFORM MOBILE VERSION. THANKS AGAIN

    Hi Kyle,

    I cloned your form and tested it to see if I could replicate the issue, and I ran into the same problem. It is working in the Jotform mobile app. I also tested it on a browser on the mobile and it is also not working:

    I created a ticket about it and escalated this to our Developer team. As soon as we have an update, we’ll let you know.

    I just noticed i can get the qr scanner to work but only with qr codes generated by jotforms. Not outside sources like qr code generator. Maybe this will help identify the problem?
