Feature: Google Drive Integration link to the files that points to Google Drive after an upload is made

Since JotForm doesn't have the option to require a password or API-key to authenticate an API request, we've added the Google Drive integration to our form. Now I'm getting the files uploaded into the right folder but I'm not seeing a link anywhere in the Google Sheets export and I need one so that I can connect the responses to the form with the right files in the Drive folder. Am I missing something with the integrations?

    Hi Austin,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I checked your account and there seems to be a lot of forms. Can you send us the form URL so we can take a look at it and help you with a solution? Also, if you can take a screenshot of what’s happening, that will help us to better understand what’s going on. We have a guide about how to do that here.

Once we have a better idea of what’s going on, we’ll be able to come up with a solution.

The LJI Application Form has uploaded fields to Google Drive set up for three fields. They are uploading properly to Google Drive but I need to have a way from within my Google Sheet export to reference the new URLs for those files that are uploaded. At the moment, the only URL that gets sent to the Google Sheet export is the URL within Jotform.

    Hi Austin,

Thanks for getting back to us. Unfortunately, there is no feature for this that will setup a correct reference to the new files going straight to the in Google Drive directory for the files that are transferred there.

I'm not sure if this is possible but let me forward a feature request for this to the developers. Unfortunately, I cannot give you a timeframe as to when this can be added or when it will be subject to research and development. But as soon as it is available, we'll let you know right away.

Let us know if you have more questions or need more help.

Okay, I'm just trying to find a secure way to download the files connected to my forms without having to log in via browser to Jotform so this would be a huge help. I'm a bit confused as to why it hasn't been developed yet.

    Hi Austin,

Thanks for getting back to us. This has been escalated by my colleague as a feature request, When or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.

Thanks, Israel. Just to clarify, the two paths forward would be to enhance the Google Drive integration and show new Google Drive file names associated with each response in the Google Sheets export OR to allow for secure file downloads via the API using credentials of some sort.

There might be a way to do this with zapier. I was able to build a zap that looks for new files in a folder and then isolates the file ID, so that you can get a direct link. It took a lot of doing, but it can be done and once it works, it works well.
