Encrypted 2.0 Forms: Does encryption apply to all forms in my account?

Do we enable Encryption 2.0 form-by-form, or is it enabled account wide? There are a large number of features that disappear when using encryption (outlined in the link), and I'd like to know if that will be for the entire account, or just the specifically-encrypted forms. Thanks.

    Hi Dan,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I checked your account and noticed that Encryption 2.0 is not enabled. Can you allow activation on your account? Keep in mind that if you create a new form, it can be activated on your existing form; otherwise, your old encrypted form remains unchanged. Also, only encrypted forms are not allowed for some integrations.

Let us know if there's anything else we can help you with.

    Hi Waqas,

Thanks. No, I haven't enabled yet, because of my concern outlined above. I'm not clear about your answer. Will I choose encryption form-by-form, or is a global election? I have a specific use case for a small minority of forms going forward, but I want the vast majority of my future forms to retain the features that disappear when using encryption (autoresponders, etc).

I'll re-phrase my question: if I enable Encryption 2.0 in my account, will my existing forms retain all of the features they currently have, and will I choose which future forms are encrypted (with no extended features) and which are not (to retain the extended features).

Hope that's clearer. I don't want to enable Encryption until I know how it will behave across current and future forms in my account. Thanks.

    Dan

    Hi Dan,

Thanks for getting back to us. Since a form can be encrypted within its Form Settings, as shown in the screenshot below, only the submission data of the specific will be encrypted:

    Encrypted 2 Screenshot 20

This means that your other existing forms, as well as the new forms that you'll create, will not be encrypted, unless you also enable their Encrypt Form Data feature. Keep in mind that once your form is encrypted, we won’t be able to access your data, so if you forget your access code, your data is considered lost. We recommend storing your access code in a safe place, or creating an access code that’s easy to remember.

Reach out again if you have any other questions.
