Phone format is different when exported as Excel

The phone number formatting on the .xls template format is not uploading correctly. The template is showing that the format needs to be 01###, ####### on the .xls file, but that is resulting in a format of ###-####### on the actual submission table, instead of (###) ###-#### or ###-###-####. And, the number doesn't seem to be importing into the actual field box, because when I click to edit it, the number is not filled in at all.

    Hi Vicky,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Can you share with us the link to your form so we can check it out and see what's going on further? If you can also share with us a screenshot of the output file you received, and the format of your expected result, that will help us understand what's happening and help you better.

After we hear back from you, we’ll have a better idea of what’s going on and how to help.

I would prefer not to share screenshots of the Excel files or the submissions after upload in this forum, as I do not want to post the phone numbers publicly.

The form phone number field has formatting set to be (###) ###-####
The upload website template shows that phone numbers need to be formatted 01###, #######
The files that were uploaded were formatted to match 01###, #######
The output format on the submission table is formatted ###-#######

    Hi MusiciansAbroad,

Thanks for your patience, we appreciate it. You will need to change the number format in Excel, to the format you need. Check this guide from Microsoft on how to change the number format. Once you've changed the format, it will populate correctly in the form field, which you can also edit.

And when the form is submitted, it will be properly formatted in the submissions table:

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
