How to Edit Submission Entry

Is there any way the form creator can edit submissions after they have been sent? (For example an employee gets a pay rise and I need to change that on their contract).

    Hi Esther,

Yes, you can edit submissions directly within the cell in Jotform Tables. Let me show you how:

    1. On the Jotform Tables page, click on a cell.
    2. Delete the information in it and then just enter a new answer for it.

Does this change it on the orignal form?

I.e. if the person who filled in the form downloads it, will the update be shown there?

    Hi Esther,

Thanks for getting back to us. Unfortunately, a downloaded version of the form/submission is already detached from the original form, so the changes you make in the Jotform table will not affect their downloaded version. What you can do is resend a copy of the submission with the changes manually by adding an action button to your table. Let me show you how to add it:

    1. In Tables, scroll to the far-right of the columns and click on Add (You can also click on the drop-down arrow on the Columns button and choose to add a column from there).
    2. Go to the Buttons tab in the Add a New Column pop-up and choose the Send Email feature.
    3. Enter your desired column name and click on Next.
    4. Lastly, click on whether you'd like to only manually send NotificationsAutoresponders, or both. Don't forget to click on Apply Changes to complete the process.

This way, every time you make a change to the submissions, you can re-send the autoresponder email with just a click of a button in the Table.

Give it a try and reach out again if you have any other questions.

    Good morning,

I have made some changes to this form and now I am unable to edit the form after it has been signed. Can you please let me know where I am going wrong?

    Hi Esther,

Can you please let us know if Jotform Sign Automation is enabled in your form? If so, the submission you received in the form will be considered as a Sign Document. Currently, it is not possible to edit the sign document entries.

As the feature you're looking for isn't available at Jotform right now. We've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers, but when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll follow up on this thread and let you know.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.
