Before you fill out an application please be sure that a Rescue is the option through which you are going to choose to add an addition to your family. We are all volunteers at Potter’s Angels Rescue- most with full time jobs and families in addition to volunteering and going through the entire adoption process with an applicant that then purchases a dog takes up a fair amount of precious time. We would like our volunteers to focus their efforts and time on those applicants that are serious in helping a rescued animal.

Our policy is to adopt to people that are 21years of age or older. This is not a first come/first serve procedure as we take great care in matching our dogs to prospective homes. Once the references have been checked on your application, you can expect a call from one of our representatives. This is in order to address any concerns regarding your application and gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have thought of since completing the application. After this a home visit will be scheduled with a representative and the adopter. It is required that and everyone in the household be present including the 4 legged members. If possible this will also be when the potential adopter meets the dog; although occasionally due to distance that will require a second meeting. The adopter will be expected to travel to a representative’s home to pick up their new family member and finalize the adoption.

Are you willing to have a P.A.R representative come to your home to perform a home visit? This is not to judge how clean you keep your house, we do this to get a feel for the environment and whether it is suitable for the dog you are looking to adopt. As an example, some anxious dogs find an open floor plan overwhelming and can benefit from gates being put up. This is just one of many examples on how the home visit can help make the transition smoother for both you and the dog you are looking to adopt. We are NOT looking to judge, we just want successful adoption stories for our dogs and people.*
