Trimester 1: Stories of the Sages (October 25-December 20) Explore the most captivating stories shared by our sages—from the Talmud, midrash, and Chasidic works. Plumb the stories’ depths through interactive discussion, comparative literature, and new and inspiring perspectives.
Trimester 2: Encounters with Jewish Spirituality (Jan.10-Feb. 21) - Encounters with Jewish Spirituality. We will learn about Jewishmeditation, spirits and demons, mysticism and kabbalah, the afterlife,spiritual segulahs like the hamsa, and more.
Trimester 3: Jewish Ethics for the 21st Century (March 13-May15) - In the firstpart of the trimester we will discuss Jewish ethics of war. Topics will include proportionality in war, morality in urban warfare, wartime ethics, and Israel’s current case for a just war. In the second part, we will focus on reproductive and end of life ethics: in-vitro fertilization, surrogacy, abortion, brain death, organ donation, and more.
