SAC OPEN STUDIOS 2025

Sac Open Studios spotlights the diverse range of artists who fill the Sacramento region with art and culture. The central component of Sac Open Studios is a self-guided artist open studios tour which spans all of Sacramento and Yolo Counties and takes place annually during the middle two weekends of September.

In efforts to accommodate all artists interested in participating, there are a limited number of scholarships available which are intended for artists experiencing true financial hardship. If you are unable to afford the registration fee, please fill out the scholarship form HERE. Scholarship applications MUST be submitted by April 18, 2025 to be considered. All applications will be reviewed by the selection committee on a rolling basis. Applicants will be notified by no later than April 25, 2025.

If you would like to donate the registration fee for an artist experiencing financial need, there is an option to do so when you pay your registration fee. Registration  fee donors will be acknowledged in the 2025 Sac Open Studios Guide. 

2025 Sac Open Studios Artist Participation includes:

• Inclusion in the in-person studio tour on Weekend 1 or Weekend 2, depending on your location. Traditionally, participating artists open their art studios to the  public during their assigned weekend. During Sac Open Studios, the term art studio takes many  forms. While many participating artists have traditional work spaces in studio facilities, many Sac  Open Studios artists open their home studios or utilize other spaces such as cafés, community  centers, garages or backyards to display their art during their assigned weekend. 
• Full Color Artist Listing in the 2025 Sac Open Studios Guide.
• Opportunity to list an Artist Demo in the Sac Open Studios Guide. An artist  demo is an educational artist demonstration presented at specific times during your assigned  weekend. The demonstration should include step by step instructions to complete an artistic  technique. 
• Artist Profile in the Sac Open Studios Artist Directory online at sacopenstudios.com
• Free enrollment (+ recording) of the Canva and Artist Ads Workshop.
•  Free enrollment (+ slides) of the Promote Your Open Studio Workshop.
• Discounted advertising rates in the 2025 Sac Open Studios Guide.
• Inclusion in the Preview Exhibition at Verge Center for the Arts.

The Sac Open Studios tour is divided into two weekends.

Weekend 1: September 13-14 – Studios west of I-80/Hwy 99
For example, Woodland, Davis, West Sacramento, North Sacramento, Downtown, Midtown, Land Park, Curtis Park, Pocket-Greenhaven, etc.

Weekend 2: September 20-21 – Studios east of I-80/Hwy 99, plus all of Elk Grove and areas south of Elk Grove regardless of which side of the freeway they're on.
For example, Citrus Heights,  Folsom, Fair Oaks, Carmichael, Rancho Cordova, Arden-Arcade, College Park, East Sacramento, Oak Park, Tahoe Park, South Sacramento, Elk Grove, Herald, Galt, Walnut Grove, Isleton, etc.

Upload one professional quality image of your artwork to be featured with your studio  listing in the official Sac Open Studios Guide. 

IMPORTANT: Before uploading, read the instructions below carefully. 

• Make sure the file name of your image matches your Artist Name listed above (the name that will be listed in the Guide).
• If applicable, separate your first & last name with an underscore. For example: John_Smith.png
• Choose an image that best represents your current artistic work. 
• The image file type must be jpeg, jpg, or png.
• This image must show ONLY YOUR ARTWORK. 
• The image must be at least 300 dpi. 
• Choose a horizontal image (landscape orientation) if possible.

2025 Sac Open Studios Terms and Conditions

I understand that there are no refunds on 2025 Sac Open Studios registration.

I understand that participation is contingent on upholding and abiding by all terms.

I understand that if I host other artists, or if I am hosted by another artist, each artist must be a registered participant of Sac Open Studios.

I agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Verge Center for the Arts and Sac Open Studios, its officers, agents and employees for any and all liabilities, claims, errors, omissions, losses, accidents and expenses caused by, arising out of, or in connection with, either directory or indirectly, Sac Open Studios and the 2025 Sac Open Studios Guide.

Verge Center for the Arts reserves the right to photograph participating artists, artist studios, event spaces and artwork for publicity, documentation, and fundraising purposes.

Terms are subject to change.

Early Registration: $125 for Verge members (with code), through April 1st

General Registration: $150 for Verge members (with code) /  $175 for non-members, through May 10th

Late Registration: $200 for all, regardless of membership status, through May 30th
