  • Central Park PTA Direct Donation 2025-2026

  • The Central Park Elementary School PTA, a 501(c)3 non-profit, supports the mission and vision of Central Park Elementary School’s innovative education program. Your donation directly impacts our teachers and classroom learning across all grade levels by providing supplies for our classrooms and project-based learning initiatives, while also supporting key enrichment activities such as classroom field trips, lunchtime sports program and on-campus events like the Harvest Festival, Springtime Dance and Multicultural Festival. These activities support and benefit the entire student body and related community.

PTA’s direct donation drive allows families to donate to our school at the beginning of the year. We are hoping for widespread participation as our collective effort ensures that our school and teachers have suficient funding in order to provide a rigorous, hands-on, whole-child education. Our aim is to provide educational teams the flexibility to adapt their curriculum to the needs and interests of our kids.

Our suggested donation is a $200 tax-deductible donation per child. Donations at every level are appreciated and we ask that you give in a way that is comfortable for your family. Your donation will have an immediate and tangible impact on our students.

You can read our outgoing Principal's message on page 2 of this form.

  • Families,

We have several areas we are focusing on this year where we need your support.

    1. Garden Program: Students engaging in garden lessons provides a  powerful way to promote life-long healthy eating habits and connect students to the natural world. It allows for hands-on learning, inquiry, observation and through practical, reality-based learning. Your direct donations are used to purchase gardening supplies such as soil, seeds, plants, tools, etc.)
    2. Garden Expansion: Before the pandemic disrupted our lives, we had a goal of expanding our current garden in order to provide a larger space for students to engage in. Our expansion project includes adding more garden beds, providing irrigation, fencing, a pergola and tool storage. Due to the cost of this expansion, we anticipate it being a multiple year project that will be expensive. We are looking for grants and  funding to help us with this effort, as well as a volunteer architect.
    3. Nutritional Science Lab: Our goal is to integrate regular cooking and nutritional science lessons into our curriculum and garden program. Some of the food items will come directly from what we harvest in the garden. Your direct donations would support the purchase of cooking supplies/equipment and other necessary food items.
    4. Lunchtime Sports: Before the pandemic we were fortunate to provide athletic coaches during our lunch hour. These coaches supported students in learning skills in basketball, soccer, baseball and other sports. In addition, they taught students fun, noncompetitive games and supported teamwork and sportsmanship. We will fund 50% part of this program with our school budget, your direct donations would support the remaining 50%.’
    5. Project Based Learning and Design Challenges are integral to our program. These require teachers to purchase hands-on supplies and materials. Your direct donations support the purchase of these materials.
